Pastors' Profiles

 
Rupter
Rupert Hsu currently serves as pastor and elder for the Chinese congregation. His roles also include the shepherding and caring ministries of the whole church. Rupert is a shepherd who knows and cares for his sheep. His gentle caring touch is felt by everyone.

He worked as an engineer prior to being called as a vocational pastor. He holds M.Div. from Western Seminary.

Rupert is married to Hseu-Hwang who works alongside him in the caring ministry. Hseu-Hwang also serves in the women's ministry and the children's ministry. They have three children.
 
 
Y. C. Mok
Y. C. Mok accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1990. He was one of twelve families that planted a new church, that of CCiC-SV, where he grew and matured spiritually.

Y. C. served in various capacities, as Deacon, Treasurer, Bible teacher, and Missions Committee member while working as an I/T Project Manager for IBM.

After his retirement in 2002, Y. C. went to
Western Seminary and received a MS degree in Specialized Ministry in 2005. During the last two plus years he has been serving as an Elder in the Chinese congregation. His gifted area of ministries is in teaching and discipleship.

Since 2002 Y. C. and his wife Min also spend about three months annually participating in the ministry of “For All Saints Team Ministries (FASTM)”, equipping the saints through Discipleship Training Conference (DTC) in Europe and Asia. His passion and vision is to disciple people for life change so they can reproduce the same change in others.

Y. C. received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Taiwan, and a MS degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Iowa. He worked in the Information Technology industry for over thirty years, twenty five of which at IBM specializing in systems analysis, project management and systems integration consulting.

He has been married to Min for thirty five years, with two grown sons, Fred and Jason, and four grandchildren.
 
 
Ward
Ward Huang is also an elder and pastor. He trusted the Lord in 1979 while working for IBM. He joined CCiC-San Jose soon after he transferred to IBM San Jose. Later, on Easter of 1992, he and eleven other families started CCiC-South Valley.

Prior to being called to full-time service, Ward had worked in industries for 30+ years. He had also served for many years as deacon at South Valley, in the caring and mission ministries. Three years
before retirement, he began studying at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed his Master’s degree in 2008.

Ward is gifted in the areas of caring and personal evangelism. His current focus is the Gilroy ministry. May God guide and bless this ministry that it may lead to the planting of a church in Gilroy. He and his wife Mei-Ing have been married for 35 years. They have one son, two daughters and one grandson.


 
 
Fred
Fred Mok currently serves as pastor to the English congregation which includes adults and youth. He enjoys preaching and teaching about Jesus and proclaiming the gospel to those who have never heard it before.

He was part of the original South Valley youth group. As a high school senior, he experienced his ministry calling when a missionary challenged foreign-born Chinese to reach China with the gospel.

After college, he came back to South Valley to help lead the young adult group. In 2006, Fred joined the pastoral staff of the church after nine years at Hitachi//IBM as an IT analyst and project manager.

Fred has a Masters of Divinity from Western Seminary and a business degree from UC Berkeley. He is married to Judy and they have four children: Caleb, Micah, Abigail, and Elliot.

 
 
 
Dan
Dan Matsuoka came to CCIC-SV’s Youth Group as an 8th Grader in 1997. Dan studied History at UCLA when he felt the call by God into full-time ministry while being involved in campus ministry at UCLA Crossroads Campus Ministries, and then received his Master of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology in December of 2011. After serving part-time in College Ministry and in Worship Ministry while attending seminary, Dan decided to move
back home to San Jose and to return to CCIC-SV full time. Dan’s primary focus is working with the youth group. He is also involved in the English congregation’s worship ministry. His passion and vision is for God’s people to learn more about the grace of God so that they can become disciples to do the same.
